Introduction to Design and Drafting

Tackle a more complicated project this winter and proceed smoothly with a clear design and process plan. Students should come to class with any and all possible design inspirations from photos and natural objects to residential problems that could be remedied with well-designed furniture. The four-hour class will begin by familiarizing students with basic drafting tools and methods. The second half of the class will focus on deriving good designs from ideas and inspirations proposed by individual students, and then work toward deriving cut lists and process plans to execute these complex designs with ease. Materials fee covers full drafting kit.

Note: Materials fee waived if students bring their own drafting kit with pens, pencil, scale rule, graph paper, triangle, and curve drawing tool.
