Stratmann/Lynn Landscapes
August 7-September 29
An exhibition of the work of painter Trice Stratmann and photographer
Shayne Lynn, depicting the essence of nature from two distinct vantage
points. Trice Stratmann creates moments of energy and beauty using
color and form to capture transparent and luminous visions. Shayne
Lynn's travels have formed the basis of his astute eye and ability
to craft images intense with life and evoking mystery. Viewers will
be enveloped in beauty and will also experience an opportunity to
reflect on the endless variants that come into play in understanding
our environment.
Trice Stratmann came to Vermont in 1976, studied marble
sculpture with Paul Aschenbach and graduated from the University
of Vermont in 1980 with a BA in Art. She also studied at the University
of Southern Maine and the Shelburne Craft School (now Shelburne
Art Center). During the past twenty years she has worked as a designer,
sculptor and painter. Her work has been exhibited in the New England
area since 1979.
Native Vermonter Shayne Lynn became a photographer
during his sports-related travels through the Rocky Mountains, the
Alps, and the Andes. He then studied at Brooks Institute of Photography
in Santa Barbara, California and subsequently launched a career
as a commercial photographer. Interactions with people and nature
have broadened his perspective as a fine art photographer.
