Art Center Leadership
At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors, Marshall Webb was
re-elected President, Myron Sopher, Vice President/Treasurer and Holly
Boardman was chosen Secretary. In addition to the election of officers
for the current year, board members established committees to help
with the important work of the organization. All were pleased by the
progress made toward improving financial stability during the past
year and expressed appreciation for our community’s tremendous
outpouring of generosity during various fundraising activities. In
looking ahead, board members want to continue moving in this positive
direction by seeking collaborative working arrangements with other
organizations, increasing enrollment in our educational programs,
enhancing the gallery’s retail operations and attracting new
supporters to the Art Center.
If anyone would like to help the Art Center with various projects,

Grants Supporting Shelburne Art Center’s Educational Mission
In 2007, Shelburne Art Center was awarded several grants to support
our education programs. Our newly developed Discovery Learning Initiative
in Art Education, which focuses on special benefits for children,
has generated substantial interest. In addition to the Lintilhac Foundation’s
early grant of $1,000, we’re especially pleased and grateful to have
received funding from three new sources:
Argosy Foundation ($10,000)
Reducs Foundation ($5,000)
The Robert Fleming and Jane Howe Patrick Foundation ($1,000)
The goal of The Discovery Learning Initiative in Art Education is
to highlight our mission through enhancing the student’s educational
experience. With this funding, we will be able to offer a greater
variety of adult and children’s classes and workshops, implementing
summer and fall master workshops, improving the organization’s facilities,
and providing equipment upgrades.
