Students learn basic and intermediate techniques for carving wax to create their own designs into rings. The first two classes (weekend) will focus on learning to work on the wax using hand files, jeweler’s saw, drilling, piecing, carving and fusing. Come up with your own patterns and three dimensional designs. Wax pieces will then be sent away for casting during the 2-week break. During the final class, students will learn to finish and polish their pieces. *Cost includes all carving materials but doesn’t include the cost of having the carvings cast as this varies widely. Students must pay additional casting fee per piece.
