Medium Magic!
9am-12pm
|
Kids love to touch and manipulate, without the
need for a specific outcome. Watch what your child will do with
opportunity and spontaneity, and build his/her fine motor skills
in the process using colored pencils, makers, tempera paint, watercolor,
pastels, paper, fabric and other materials. By taking time to
learn through creation and experimentation children discover a
variety of materials and techniques to express themselves. At
the end of the week students will select a favorite material to
create their final masterpiece. |

Bookmaking: This is My Story
9am-12pm
|
Let your child be the focus of their own storybook. Using their
own lives as inspiration, children will create a book about themselves,
as well as people, places, and experiences that are important
to them. Each page of the storybook will explore a new artistic
material. Campers will use colored pencils, markers, tempera paint,
watercolor, pastels, fabric and other materials to construct each
page of their book. Papermaking skills will be taught and used
to create the cover of their personal storybook. The final product
will be a book that you and your child will treasure for years
to come. |
July 20–24

Creative Clay!
9am-12pm
FULL
|
Discover how exciting clay can be! Each day we’ll learn
about this amazing medium through experimentation and play. Campers
will build dexterity as they investigate clay by pushing, pulling,
building, tearing, pounding and smoothing this remarkable material.
Kids will learn a variety of coil, slab and hand building techniques.
They will use these new skills to construct pinch pots, coil pots,
small figures, and clay masks. All completed projects will be
painted with colorful slips and fired in the kiln. |
