Benefit Barbeque

With the help of all of these individuals and community businesses, Shelburne Art Center held an evening of food, fun, music and much more. Art and craft demos in wood, ceramics, stained glass, and rock carving were offered to our sold-out crowd. Children exercised their creativity through participating in clay exploration, print making, and face painting - and all of these activities were offered by generous volunteers to the Center! Guests were entertained by the sweet sounds of The Meatpackers after all enjoyed the delicious chicken barbeque – even the weather that evening was lovely!

During the event, the Art Center honored Valerie Graham, Linda Fishell and Julie Windsong with the new Mission Award. Recently established by the Art Center, this award recognizes outstanding individuals who have helped fulfill the organization’s educational mission. The award acknowledges dedicated supporters who have distinguished themselves through leadership, stewardship and service.

And lastly, it is significant to note that this fundraising event raised over $5000 to promote our educational mission. Again, thank you to all who attended the barbeque and to all of you who purchased a chance to win “A Pot of Gold.” Following this successful “blueprint” we are excited about what we will offer in 2009 and we hope to see you there!
