Wood Classes

Fine Woodworking—Master Series
Instructor: Tim Waite

Thursdays 6:30–9:30pm
Five weeks, Sept. 18, Oct. 2, 16, 30, & Nov. 13

Members $140, Non-members $155
Shop fee $35, Maximum 10

The master series emphasizes the acquisition of specific skills rather than project completion. Each week the instructor will teach a new joinery technique, introduce a new tool or cover design theory. Students will actively participate and leave each class with a finished sample of the day’s work. This class is perfect for intermediate/advanced students seeking a greater diversity of skills in their repertoire. Woodworkers with home shops who would like to expand their skill base, but do not need our shop for project completion, will benefit as well.

Curriculum

1. Incorporating curves in furniture
2. Frame and panel construction
3. Cabinet hardware installation: hinges, latches, and pulls
4. Sliding dovetails
5. Drawers without dovetails
