Current Exhibit: Stella Ehrich + Craft
on the Landscape
Stella Ehrich is a figurative realist painter whose work includes many paintings of young adolescent women as well as portraits and landscapes. She studied at the Banff Center School of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada, at the University of Michigan and at the Memphis Academy of Art where she received her B.F.A. in painting in 1974. She lived in Italy for 16 years and studied drawing and painting in Florence with Nerina Simi for seven years. In 1991 she moved with her family to North Bennington, Vermont. She received her M.F.A. from Bennington College in 2000 and has continued to teach there as an instructor of life drawing and an assistant in the printmaking department. She has also taught for the Community College of Vermont, the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, Old Lyme, CT; Brookhaven College, Dallas, TX; and Williams College, Williamstown, MA.
