Board Members

Marshall Webb, President

Marshall grew up in Shelburne and continues to work and live there at Shelburne Farms. In the 1950's he attended classes at the Craft School as part of the public school art curriculum. After graduating from Wesleyan University, he helped transform Shelburne Farms from a private estate into a nonprofit environmental education center. He has held many positions there including cheese-maker, buildings and grounds manager, and woodlands manager. He joined the Art Center Board in January of 2000.


Myron Sopher, Vice President and Treasurer

As a native of Shelburne, Myron Sopher has been familiar with the Shelburne Art Center since 1970 when his mother began to make pottery at the school. Sopher says the Shelburne Art Center was part of his life growing up in Shelburne and now it is a part of his family’s life as well. Sopher is currently the president of Sopher Investment Management, a firm that manages individual investment portfolios for individuals, trusts, retirement accounts and foundations.


Holly Boardman, Secretary

Holly Boardman lives in Charlotte with her husband, Dan, and their children. She received her BFA from Pratt Institute and worked for JDK Design before starting Clover Creek, a custom invitation company that she sold in March 2007 after 14 years. Holly is currently doing creative marketing for Women's Quest, an all women's fitness retreat company based in Boulder, Colorado.


Jack Lazarowksi

Jack Lazarowski is a designer and educator with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a MA in Teaching from Antioch Graduate School. His New England career spanning 40 years includes work with the Smithsonian, the Boston Children’s Museum, Dartmouth College, the Vermont Council on the Arts, Shelburne Farms, Frog Hollow Craft Center and Burlington City Arts. He brings to the Shelburne Arts Center a keen interest in the role of arts in the health of our communities.


Heather Thomas Lynn

Heather Thomas Lynn grew up in Shelburne and attended the Shelburne Craft School (now Art Center) as a child. She returned to Vermont to practice law and is a partner in Lynn, Thomas & Mihalich, P.C., a Burlington firm that she founded in 1998. Heather looks forward to participating in the growth and development of the Art Center and to working in the area of the arts that reaches out to the community, particularly its children. Heather lives in Shelburne with her husband and three stepsons.


Ayn Baldwin Riehle

In addition to having been the director of the Art Center from 1990-1995, Ayn is a painter and has been an active supporter. Her work was shown at the Gallery in 2003. The Board and staff are pleased to have Ayn's invaluable perspective to assist the Art Center in moving forward with its plans for development.


Douglas Schneible

Douglas Schneible has been an international businessman, art collector, teacher, and history buff for most of his life. He is the owner and president of Schneible Fine Art located in Shelburne, Vermont. Douglas has taught community college art and small business seminars and has authored several informative articles. He and his partner and wife, Anita L. Royer currently live in Shelburne with their three children Lena, Elena, and Ben.


Stephen Selin

Stephen Selin is a partner in Selin and Selin Architecture in Shelburne. Selin and Selin has designed many local public and private buildings, including the Art Center's neighbor, Village Wine and Coffee. Stephen holds degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University and formerly was a principal with Truex Cullins and Partners. His practice of architecture encompasses art and craft along with science. He looks forward to assisting the Art Center to engage more people in learning and appreciating fine art and craft.
